Small Serbian village Guca in Dragacevo county has only 2200 habitants. But every year in August more than 300.000 visitors come to this small place, only cause of one reason - brass bend festival. Local people usually say that Assembly of Trumpet Players is the largest trumpet event on the planet. The trumpet came to Serbia in 19th century with Austro - Hungarian army and from that time Serbs adopted it and trumpet became a part of everyday life. People are celebrating and mourning with "metal" sound of trumpet. In this region of Serbia the sound of the trumpet traditionally accompanies every major event: births, baptisms, weddings, family patron saint day, farewell parties, state and church festivals, harvesting, reaping, and also on funerals. The population which really improved Serbian ethno trumpet music are Roma's. Most of them who are living in poverty and poor life conditions are real celebrities once a year. From generation to generation Roma brass bands are coming to compete for the "First trumpet of the festival". The traditional Dragačevo trumpet - its cult kept alive for nearly two centuries regardless of political and social considerations - has with time become world-renowned.
